Miss Namibia 2024, Prisca Anyolo, has unveiled her National Costume, which she will wear at the Miss Universe pageant.
The Desert Mirage National Costume pays tribute to the extraordinary beauty and diversity of Namibia, drawing inspiration from the country's unique landscapes.
Since being crowned Miss Namibia 2024 in Lüderitz, the town has served as a significant source of inspiration for the costume, as it is where the first diamond was discovered in Namibia.
The upper portion of the costume features a stunning design made from two distinct types of netting fabric: an illusion mesh that matches the skin tone for a seamless effect, and a second netting fabric adorned with intricate patterns of rhinestones, gemstones, and bead crystals. These sparkling details symbolize the abundant natural wealth of the country, particularly its famous diamonds. The lower part of the costume flows elegantly and incorporates desert sand from the Namib, arranged in striking patterns that mimic the shifting dunes.
Prisca will depart for Mexico City, Mexico, on October 28, where representatives from 130 countries will participate in the beauty contest. The coronation of Miss Universe is scheduled for November 16, 2024.
