The President of the United Democratic Front (UDF) says the party leadership remains committed to addressing the struggles of the Namibian people.

Hendrik Gaobaeb, who was speaking at the party's star rally at Khorixas, urged Namibians to go out and vote for him and his party.

The town of Khorixas was painted white, blue, and green as UDF held its last star rally.

The party president said the party's main aim is to ensure that the gap between the rich and poor is narrowed.

"On the 27th of November, make sure that you cast your vote for the UDF Party and for Hendrik Gaobaeb as your president. We pledge to engage robustly in the parliament to ensure that your voice is heard. Our manifesto is providing clear practical solutions to the problems that our people are facing in Namibia. There is no political party, apart from the UDF party, that can champion your interests. The UDF Party is guided by the principles of social democracy."

The party pledged to tackle unemployment, increase social grants, and ensure free education and land delivery.

"Sadly, after 34 years of independence, our people are still without land, and they are still not in control of the economy. Comrades, the fight of our generation is about giving our people dignified lives. Of what good is political freedom if our people are still subjected to unemployment? What is there to celebrate? While our people are subjected to a low-quality yet expensive education. How can we sleep at night while our people are subjected to extreme poverty?".

UDF controls the constituencies in Khorixas, Sesfontein, and Kamanjab.

"I have introduced the top ten candidates that will be elected for the National Assembly if you go out and vote. We have decided and believe from the hard work we have invested in you and on the ground that you will go out and vote for more UDF representatives. In legislation, possitions," said party SG Daniel Tsaneb.

Some new members also joined the party at the rally.
