It should be borne in mind that becoming an officer in the defense force is no small feat; it must be both earned and deserved.

President Nangolo Mbumba issued this call when he officiated at the Graduate Parade of the 11th Regular Commissioning Course at the Osona Military Base.

149 officers, drawn from all of Namibia's 14 regions, completed the Regular Commissioning Course.

Through the Regular Commissioning Course, officer cadets are trained, transformed, and equipped with the necessary military skills, knowledge, and character, befitting an officer to lead troops in the NDF during peacetime and wartime.

President Mbumba is pleased with the sustained efforts to professionalise the country's military.

As Commander in Chief, Dr. Mbumba expects the officers to uphold the values of patriotism, dedication, and respect for the rule of law.

The Regular Commissioning Course was completed over a 12-month period.

The commissioned officers will be deployed to the three services of the Namibian Defence Force, namely the army, air force, and navy.
