A patient who struggled for years with a stomach disease has welcomed the recently launched endoscopic machine at Keetmanshoop Hospital.
Speaking to nbc News, Brumelda De Klerk said the service will help cut costs associated with travelling to the Katutura Intermediate Hospital in Windhoek.
De Klerk said the machine means a lot to her and her daughter, who struggles with the same condition.
De Klerk stated that she did not want to subject her daughter to the trauma of travel and that the endoscopic machine had made a significant difference.
She mentioned that the machine will assist patients like her who experience stomach pains but are uncertain about the underlying causes.
The machine was recently launched in Keetmanshoop, but plans are underway to serve the Hardap Region as well as to decongest the Windhoek referral hospital.
