A 30-year-old Namibian woman, Pauline Mbangula, who was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport in September 2024 after arriving from São Paulo with over 68 cocaine bullets ingested in her stomach, will make her 4th appearance before a Johannesburg magistrate on February 26.

According to Namibia's High Commissioner to South Africa, Veiccoh Nghiwete, Mbangula remains in custody at the Johannesburg Correctional Facility, commonly known as "Sun City.

She appeared for the first time at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on September 25. The case was then postponed to November 3, 2024, to allow for confirmation of the drug type and for her to secure legal representation. However, due to financial constraints, she was unable to hire a lawyer, resulting in a further postponement to December 3, 2024.

The February 26 hearing will be a status update on her legal representation.
