The online visa application system, launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security on Tuesday, has already attracted hundreds of tourists.

About 200 visa applications have been approved through the online process so far.

Chief of Immigration in the ministry, Nehemia Ngishekwa, shared an update during an information-sharing session held at the Government Information Centre.

"I have heard many comments from people being negative against the introduction of the new policy by the government. We can either make our policy work or break it ourselves. The success of what we have introduced so far is that by this morning, 199 applications were already approved, and if you put that into dollars, in two days they have generated over N$300,000 for the Republic of Namibia."
