The 23rd edition of the Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup is fast approaching, set to take place in the Kunene Region from April 19th to 21st. 

This year marks the second consecutive year the tournament will be hosted in Outjo.

As March winds down, anticipation is growing for the U20 football tournament, which promises an exciting weekend of action in Kunene. 

In addition to football, Netball will also feature prominently, further elevating the event's prestige.

NBC Sport spoke with Isack Hamata, Marketing & Sales Director of the Namibian Football Association, who explained the significance of returning to the Kunene Region for a second year. 

He highlighted the importance of the tournament in nurturing young talent and creating lasting memories for the players.

Hamata, who has been attending these tournaments from the grassroots level, expressed his excitement for the competition and the opportunity to witness the next generation of stars.

Finally, Hamata shared his hope that the newly appointed President of Namibia, Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, would attend the event and make the occasion even more special.

This year's tournament promises to be an exciting showcase of young talent, and the public is encouraged to support the teams and help foster the growth of the next generation of athletes in Namibia.
