NBC Radio and Sports aspiring producer Michelle Shapange has been selected, along with 10 other African presenters and commentators from across the Southern/COSAFA region, to take part in the COSAFA Women's Commentator/Presenter Workshop in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Following the success of the inaugural Women's Commentator Workshop held last year, COSAFA is again looking to unearth new talent in 2025, this time extending the program to include presenters.
Michelle Ndayambekwa Shapange is a passionate and dynamic media personality currently making her mark in the broadcasting industry.
She is a radio host at NBC National FM, TV host of the Sport Breakfast, and a Sports Producer in the NBC Sports Desk Department.
Her journey in media began at the age of 13 when she became a radio presenter at UITANI Childline Radio, sparking a deep passion for storytelling and audience engagement.
In 2024, she officially joined NBC, where she continues to grow as a journalist, sports news producer, and reporter.
Michelle is currently in her final year as a Journalism and Media Technology student at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).
Beyond her professional life, she enjoys video editing, working out, reading books, and connecting with nature.
She is particularly excited about growing both as an individual and a professional, meeting new people, and telling their unique stories.
With a great voice, refined delivery, knowledge of the game, and, most importantly, a passion to keep the audience engaged, Michelle has landed a spot in the top ten.
With a strong passion for media and communication, Michelle aspires to be an inspiration and a voice for young people worldwide.
She lives by the motto: "I don't have to prove anyone wrong. I only have to prove myself right."
The two-day workshop will be held in Johannesburg from April 8-9, 2025.
