Storybooks Namibia was launched today in Okahandja as a free open educational resource aimed at promoting literacy and language learning in homes, schools, and communities.

As part of the Global Storybooks project, it offers 40 stories from the African Storybook, available in text and audio formats in English and Namibia's most widely spoken languages.

These books are tailored to different reading levels for junior primary school learners, ensuring that the materials are relatable, culturally significant, and foster a sense of identity among students.

Users can access the books at storybooksnamibia.net, where they can be printed or downloaded in audio format.

This initiative is made possible through the partnership of the National Institute for Educational Development (NIED) and the Namibia Association of Norway (NAMAS).
