The Namibian government has instructed all Offices, Ministries, and agencies (OMAs) to make budgetary allocations for apprenticeships, internships, and graduate internships during this fiscal year.

Executive Director of the Ministry of Finance, Micheal Humavindu, instructed all OMAs to each take on 15 apprentices for six months, each receiving N$2,500.

Additionally, they must recruit 25 interns for six months, each earning N$2,500, and 25 graduate interns for two years, each earning N$3,500.

In total, 65 positions will be created for each OMA.

If funding is unavailable, OMAs are advised to redirect resources from training budgets and travel allowances.

Humavindu says this directive will be extended to regional councils and local authorities.
