Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Natangue Ithete, has called on Africans to support local products and industries, urging the continent to embrace emerging sectors such as farming, manufacturing, fashion, and fabric, among many others.

Speaking during his visit to the Swapo Party office, Ithete emphasised the importance of unity in driving economic growth and self-reliance.

He stated that rather than looking down on those venturing into these growing sectors, Africans should celebrate and invest in local products to build a stronger, more prosperous continent.

He pointed out that Africa, instead of supporting one another, supports western countries, killing the potential in their countries.

He urged Africans to shift their mindset, prioritise local innovation, and invest in developing sectors that can drive sustainable growth.

Through this collective effort, he believes Africa can become a powerful force in the global economy.
