Fred Mandaha, the Acting Head of Training at the Gobabis Vocational Training Centre, has encouraged schools in the Omaheke Region to visit the centre regularly to learn about the trades it offers.

Mandaha emphasized the importance of utilizing the centre's modern equipment, particularly for secondary school learners.

He stated that the centre is eager to support those interested in pursuing technical vocational trades, which can contribute to the country’s development goals.

"This is a technical vocational training institute focused on providing practical skills across various trades," Mandaha explained.

Ismael Uaatjo, a Grade 12 student at Wennie Du Plessis High School, expressed enthusiasm about the opportunities available at the centre, highlighting its excellent resources for nurturing students' potential. "As

Namibia develops, we must understand the importance of skills to help advance our country. I am particularly interested in electrical engineering, which is a field I want to pursue," he said.

Another student from Wennie Du Plessis, Ngasuve Hange, also appreciated the exposure.

"I am very grateful to those who invited me to explore the training centre and learn about the skills needed for enrollment. Their hospitality has been wonderful," he remarked.

The Gobabis Vocational Training Centre offers a variety of courses, including automotive mechatronics, air conditioning, boiler making, clothing production, electrical engineering, leather production, office administration, welding and metal fabrication, as well as water sanitation and supply.
