Three young men who arrived in Namibia as volunteers for two months have extended a helping hand to local youth by donating to the Salute Boxing Academy in Windhoek.
The Salute Boxing Academy, based at the Katutura Arena, came alive on Friday when it received generous donations from a group of international volunteers.
The gym, a safe haven for many young people seeking discipline, structure, or simply fitness, was abuzz with appreciation.
The academy is known for it's work in providing positive out lets for local youth.
With many youth facing unemployment, peer pressure, and limited opportunities, the volunteers say their gesture was aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles and supporting mental well-being through sport.
Their donations, which included boxing equipment and training gear, are expected to go a long way in uplifting young boxers and keeping them off the streets.
The volunteers hope that their small contribution will inspire others to invest in youth development through sport.
