The alleged offences are listed under a Case Record Number reportedly linked to the minister.
According to a police report released to the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), the allegations under investigation include rape, kidnapping, defeating the course of justice, assault by threat, crimen injuria, abduction, abortion, administering substances in contravention of the Immoral Practices Act, pointing of a firearm, supplying liquor to a minor, and assault.
The Immoral Practices Act prohibits the use of drugs, alcohol, or other substances to incapacitate a female for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts.
The police report further states that the suspect, identified in the report but not yet arrested, is alleged to have had repeated sexual contact with a minor between 2019 and September 2024. It is also alleged that the minor was forced to undergo an abortion.
The Namibian Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
Approached for comment, Minister Hengari indicated he would respond to NBC at a later stage.
