The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation officially launched the second edition of its marathon, following the inaugural event in 2019.
The event, which consists of a full marathon, a half marathon, a 5-kilometer Fun Run/Walk, is open to everyone.
It is a celebration of health and community engagement, while also symbolizing the powerful role media plays in driving positive change by addressing mental health.
The NBC Director General, Stanley Similo, emphasized that to truly value employees, one must create a conducive workplace.
The Chief Administrator for the Namibia Sports Commission, Freddy Mwiya, highlighted that in today's fast-paced work environment, it's easy to overlook mental well-being.
He called for a sense of corporate responsibility toward employee wellness and invited all companies to join the event.
The launch of the Marathon signalled the opening of registration today, which will continue until the 2nd of July.
All corporate organizations and interested individuals are encouraged to participate by registering on the NBC website.
The marathon will feature 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km race categories.
It also serves as a qualifying event for the prestigious Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Marathon for 2026, offering both recreational and competitive runners an opportunity to make an impact.
