The chairperson of the Public Service Commission, Salmaan Jacobs, called for urgent reforms in recruitment, digitisation, and legislative updates during an induction workshop for National Assembly members held at Swakopmund.
Jacobs emphasised the PSC’s constitutional role in ensuring fair and inclusive public service appointments.

Parliamentarians are therefore urged to actively engage with its annual reports, which often go undiscussed, and it is recommended that recruitment processes be automated to improve efficiency and transparency.
He highlighted the need for stronger co-operation between the Parliament and Public Service Commission to enhance service delivery, strengthen governance, and support a more professional and inclusive civil service.
