
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed former Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy, Kornelia Shilunga, as Special Advisor and Head of Upstream Petroleum Unit in the Presidency.
Carlo McLeod, a former Deputy General Manager at Chevron Namibia, will deputise Shilunga as a special advisor. Both appointments are with immediate effect.
The Presidency, in a statement, announced that the two special advisors are expected to review the existing regulatory framework and propose policies for the governance of the petroleum industry.
The special advisors are also tasked with ensuring effective and efficient management of the upstream petroleum sector.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed confidence in the abilities of Shilunga and McLeod in the execution of their assignments.
