The third Namibia Oil and Gas Conference was launched in Windhoek today (Monday).
The conference aims to identify how to position Namibia from exploration to action in the industry and to ensure that the country becomes a leader in the sector, delivering real benefits for Namibians.
Speaking at the launch, the Executive Director of Strategy and Branding at NIPDB, Margareth Gustavo, said that through the conference, they hope to identify areas of the value chain in the industry for Namibian SMEs, deepen local content through a local content database, and ensure human capital readiness for Namibia before oil production begins.
Vice Chairperson of the Economic Association of Namibia, Jesaya Hano-Oshike, pointed out that the conference will intentionally focus on aligning the industry with the nation’s objectives as the country transitions from exploration to production of oil and gas.
The conference is scheduled to take place from the 12th to the 15th of August 2025 and is expected to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and local and international stakeholders.
