The Oshakati Town Council expressed satisfaction with this year's attendance at the annual Totem Expo, which drew over seven thousand visitors to the cultural event held for its tenth edition at the Oshakati Independence Stadium last week.

The Totem Expo was created to promote cultural norms and boost the local economy while providing opportunities for various businesses to showcase their goods and services.

This year's event was particularly notable as the council incorporated elements of the local Oshiwambo culture alongside influences from the Zambezi and Omaheke regions, generating keen interest among visitors.

Council communication officer Katarina Kamari announced at the gala dinner that the expo raised over N$800,000 towards the successful hosting of the event, which featured a total of 260 exhibitors.
