The Namibia Rugby Union has received a major boost following the announcement of a new sponsorship partnership with Novel Ford, officially unveiled at a press conference held in Windhoek.

Speaking at the event, Namibia Rugby Union CEO John Heynes described the partnership as ground-breaking for the sport and a significant milestone for rugby development in the country.

Heynes added that the Union is now well-positioned to enhance its operations and performance, thanks to the new sponsorship.

As part of the sponsorship, three vehicles were officially handed over to the Union, including a Ford Wildtrak X, presented to Jacques Burger, the head coach of the national rugby team.

Director of Rugby Jacques Burger emphasized the practical impact this partnership will have, especially in terms of reaching remote areas.

He also expressed his gratitude to Novel Ford for stepping up and supporting rugby at a crucial time.

On behalf of the sponsor, Novel Motor Company CEO JP Pretorius stated that the company believes in developing sport from the grassroots level and views this partnership as an investment in Namibia's sporting future.

Pretorius also praised the NRU's leadership and expressed confidence in the journey ahead.

With the new sponsorship now officially sealed, the Namibia Rugby Union enters a new chapter of growth and accessibility, as preparations for upcoming competitions gain momentum.
