The 1.55-hectare dagga plantation that was discovered on a private farm at Hochfeld last month has not been destroyed yet.
Otjozondjupa Police Commander Philip Hidengwa says they are still working out modalities to that effect with the Ministry of Agriculture.
In a telephonic interview, Commissioner Hidengwa attributed the delay to the sorghum crop that is yet to be harvested.
Two suspects, Armand Schultz (42) and South African national David Van Der Linden (27), were arrested last month in connection with the illegal dagga plantation, a factory valued at over N$52 million.
The plantation was uncovered after a car was stopped and searched at the Okahandja-Hochfeld roadblock, where 52 large sachets were discovered.
Schultz and Van Der Linden will return to the dock on the 23rd of this month in the Okahandja Magistrates' Court for a bail application.
They face charges of dealing in dependence-producing substances and possession of drug-producing substances.
