Swakop Uranium says it stands ready to support Namibia should the government go ahead and establish a nuclear power plant locally.
The company's management, led by Chief Executive Officer Luo Wei, paid a courtesy visit on President Nandi-Ndaitwah at State House.
Luo further provided an update on the company's operations to the President, including the initiatives to ensure the transfer of skills and employment.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah is pleased with Swakop Uranium's support of the government's vision of adding value to natural resources.
Husab Mine near Swakopmund, operated under Swakop Uranium, has a workforce of more than 1,700 and says it plans to create additional employment during the construction of its desalination plant.
