The Namibian film industry is filled with excitement as industry players gathered in Windhoek for a panel discussion on a recent film, 'My F*K Marelize!'
The discussion shed light on the making of the Namibia-South Africa co-production and its 12-day journey from script to screen.
'My F*K Marelize!' is a Namibian-South African co-production which was shot between September and October last year in Windhoek.
The film is inspired by a viral video from 2019 in which one, Marelize Horn, crashed her bicycle into a rugby post while learning to ride, prompting her mother's now-famous exclamation, 'My F*K Marelize!'.
Beyond the comedic setup, the film explores Marelize's journey as she trains to become an au pair in the Netherlands, alongside her mother, Heidi, bravely concealing her cancer diagnosis.
The movie is now available at cinemas and on various streaming platforms.
