The Roads Authority (RA) has officially opened new sections of the Dr. Hage G. Geingob Freeway. Section 2B, which stretches from the Dordabis Interchange to Hosea Kutako International Airport, has been completed and is now open to traffic.
In addition, a 10-kilometre stretch of Section 2A, between the Sam Nujoma Interchange and the Otjihase Interchange at Finkenstein, has also been opened. The RA announced that the remaining portion of Section 2A is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
The freeway project covers nearly 50 kilometres and has an estimated cost of N$3 billion. Funding includes a grant of more than N$800 million from the Chinese government for Section 2B, with the balance financed through an African Development Bank loan.
