Teachers from eight schools in the Jan Jonker Cluster gathered at the Academia Secondary School Sports Field on Saturday for a sports festival designed to boost mental health and well-being through friendly competition.

Speaking on behalf of the cluster chairperson, Simeon Shimuningeni said the games were created to give teachers a break from the classroom.

He added that the event will continue to grow, with plans to expand participation and sporting codes in the future.

Teachers who took part in the activities also shared their thoughts, reflecting on the importance of the event in promoting wellness, unity, and motivation among educators.

The tournament featured football, netball, volleyball, relay races, and tug-of-war, bringing together teachers from Jan Jonker Afrikaner Secondary, Dawid Bezuidenhout High, Academia Secondary, Concordia College, Westmont High, Goereagab High, Hage Geingos High, and Khomastura High.
