The Deputy Minister of Sport, Hon. Balotti, is leading Namibia's delegation to the SportsBiz Africa Forum 2025, which is taking place from September 9-10 at the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda.

The Namibia Sport Commission (NSC) is also represented, with its Chairperson and Chief Administrator heading the Commission's delegation.

The Forum, held under the theme "The Nexus Between Sports and Business Towards Africa's Development," is co-hosted by the Ministry of Sport, the African Union Sports Council, and the Rwanda Convention Bureau, in collaboration with SportsBiz Africa and other continental partners.

Following a successful inaugural edition in 2024, this year's event aims to unlock Africa's sports economy, which currently contributes only 0.5% to the continent's GDP despite its vast potential.

The gathering brings together investors, policymakers, sports federations, industry professionals, and innovators to explore opportunities in investment, talent development, policy alignment, and commercialization.

Key highlights include the official opening ceremony, a Pan-African Sports Policy Roundtable chaired by the African Union Sports Council, curated deal rooms for investment-ready ventures, as well as exhibitions, networking sessions, and thematic workshops on sports finance, governance, and innovation.

The NSC's presence is expected to strengthen collaborations between sports and business while contributing to Africa's broader development goals under Agenda 2063  "The Africa We Want."
