President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's two sons have denied allegations made by Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) leader Panduleni Itula.

Dr. Itula claimed that the duo are involved in the oil industry and alleged the First Family is positioning itself to benefit from the sector.

The controversy began earlier this week when the IPC leader publicly linked the President's sons to the oil industry, alleging that their private business interests amount to influence in the sector.

In response, they released a detailed four-page statement in which they called the claims false and harmful to their safety, integrity, and dignity.

The duo reject the allegation that one of their companies sells diesel at the oil port, stating that their business purchases fuel from Vivo Energy for internal operational use only.

According to the statement, the diesel is used exclusively to refuel their own fleet of trucks transporting cargo for clients, and the arrangement has been in place since 2019 to assist with logistics-related cash flow management.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah's sons also deny claims that their company operates at Lüderitz without competitive tender.

They say their business approached Namport with a commercial proposal and that land allocation followed standard internal procedures used for other operators.

In this context, being described as an "anchor customer" reflects their company's contribution to cargo volumes and port revenue.

They further reject allegations that their company is involved in fuel distribution, port handling, rail coordination, storage, or wholesale logistics within the port.

They say these are standard services associated with legitimate port operations.

Their statement also addressed another company, Vaneli Foods, describing it as an agricultural business founded in 2018.

Vaneli Foods was established by one of the sons and his wife with investment support from a family friend and employed about 20 people at its peak but ceased operations in 2025 due to crop losses linked to adverse weather conditions.

The statement noted that the company has no interest in the oil sector.

The brothers emphasise that they have no involvement or interest in oil-related businesses, and they strongly reject what they describe as a campaign of misinformation.
