The Dynamic Youth Sports Academy recently brought its “Grassroots Community Policing and Crime Prevention through Sports” initiative to the Zanele Mbeki Private School in Grysblok, Windhoek. Forty-five children participated in the session, utilizing structured physical activity as a proactive tool for youth development and community safety.

The program featured small-sided soccer matches and Kwata Cricket, providing participants with the opportunity to learn alongside National Team Captain Sune Wittmann. Beyond the field, representatives from the Namibian Police engaged directly with the youth, discussing the importance of discipline and the reality of professional sports as a viable career path, while strongly encouraging the children to distance themselves from criminal activities.

Building on the success of this event, the Dynamic Youth Sports Academy is preparing for a broader rollout later this year. The program is scheduled to expand to Eenhana in the Ohangwena region, Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West region, and Mariental in the Hardap region, alongside three additional events in the Khomas region.

However, the academy requires further support to successfully implement this nationwide expansion. Stakeholders and private partners are invited to contribute resources—whether financial, logistical, or equipment-based—to help ensure these vital community-building programs reach youth across the country.
