The Learning Right Kiddies Centre hosted its annual sports day at the Vineta Stadium in Swakopmund, bringing together learners, teachers, and parents for competition.

The 2026 Learning Right Kiddies Centre Kiddies Olympics saw 67 learners compete in the Blue, Red, and Yellow teams.

The event, held at Vineta Stadium, marked the school's 21st athletics day and continues the Kiddies Olympics tradition established in 2021.

By the end of the day, the Red Team was named the overall winner.

The morning started with cold weather, but conditions improved during the day, allowing learners to take part in track and field activities.

Although schools were closed, parents attended in large numbers to support their children.

NBC Sport spoke to Pastor Harold Booysen of Potter's House Church, who said parental presence is important for a child's social and cognitive development.

The learners also shared their experiences. Grade 0 learners Olivia Van Wyk and Adhina Meghan Petrus spoke about taking part in activities and spending time with their peers.

The event shows the role of early childhood sports in Namibia by promoting physical activity and community participation.
