Botswana and Rwanda signed six bilateral agreements in Gaborone aimed at removing barriers to trade, investment, and people-to-people movement.

Agreements cover double taxation avoidance, visa abolition, health cooperation, and expanded economic and investment collaboration.

President Duma Boko said, “Rwanda has done something unprecedented. We are grateful. This practical measure moves us away from unproductive habits. We will reciprocate to extend the same benefits to Rwandans. This takes effect immediately.”

Rwanda eliminated visas for all Africans late last year, reinforcing its leadership in continental integration.
