Despite the cold morning in Windhoek, participants turned out in numbers as the /Ae//Gams Sports Club, in conjunction with the City of Windhoek, hosted a fun walk and run as part of this year's WHK Art and Culture Festival in the CBD.
Athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and recreational walkers gathered in Windhoek's central business district early on Saturday morning to take part in the event, which added a sporting activity to the annual WHK Art and Culture Festival.
The event featured both five- and 10-kilometre routes aimed at promoting fitness, wellness, and active lifestyles.
Organiser Peter-Jac De Klerk said the event aimed to encourage people to stay active while giving residents an opportunity to experience the city through sport and recreation.
Participants who completed the race shared their experiences on the course, with many saying they enjoyed taking part despite the cold conditions and welcomed the opportunity to be part of an event combining fitness and culture.
The fun walk and run formed part of a wider programme of activities at the WHK Art and Culture Festival, which brought together sport, culture, and entertainment in the capital.
