Vice President Lucia Witbooi departed for Nairobi, Kenya, this morning to participate in the Africa Forward Summit.

The summit, scheduled to take place from 11 to 12 May, is a high-level platform bringing together African Heads of State and Government, the President of France, representatives of the African Union, international financial institutions, development agencies, private sector leaders, and policy experts.

The summit aims to advance a renewed framework for cooperation between Africa and France.

Deliberations are expected to focus on key areas critical to Africa’s future development trajectory, including innovation and technology, infrastructure financing, climate resilience, renewable energy, trade and investment, youth empowerment, industrialisation, digital transformation, food security, and sustainable economic growth.

The Vice President, delegated by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, is expected to engage in a series of high-level discussions and strategic engagements on the margins of the summit, aimed at enhancing cooperation and positioning Namibia as a reliable and forward-looking partner within the international community.
