The Namibia Hockey Indoor League Men's Premier League concluded with Windhoek Old Boys securing the championship title after defeating the School of Excellence 7-3.

The final match took place yesterday at the Wanderers (WAP) Hall in Pioneers Park.

Both teams scored early, tying the game at 1-1 before the 10-minute mark, but Windhoek Old Boys dominated the remaining periods to secure the victory.

Windhoek Old Boys Captain Ernest Jacobs expressed his team's excitement following their league win.

Windhoek Old Boys had secured their spot in the finals on Wednesday night after defeating the School of Excellence 7-6 in their final group stage match.

The School of Excellence faced a tight schedule leading up to the final, playing three matches in four days.

On Friday night, third-placed School of Excellence defeated second-placed Saints 6-5 in a knockout match to reach the final.

School of Excellence Captain Roben Kambinda reflected on his team's performance and the physical demands of the tournament.

Following the tournament, Namibia Hockey Union President Carin Slabbert commended the teams and called for increased corporate support to help develop the sport.

The next edition of the Namibia Hockey Indoor League Men's Premier League is scheduled for February next year.
