National Democratic Party (NDP) President, Lukato Lukato has called on citizens to provide honest feedback to their leaders to ensure development is achieved.

Lukato made this call during a public meeting in Katima Mulilo.

The NDP leader said he has proposed numerous initiatives in Parliament contributing to national development and economic growth.

“That's why I value meetings such as this one. I want to hear your concerns. I want to hear your ideas. I want to know the challenges affecting your families, your business, your schools, your clinics, and your communities. Your voice matters, and it will continue to guide my work in the Parliament of Namibia.”

Lukato added that his advocacies in Parliament are guided by one objective, which is to improve the welfare of people.

Among the motions he tabled is the establishment of referral hospitals in Zambezi, Otjozondjupa, Erongo, Kunene, and Kharas Regions to strengthen health care delivery.

“I had the privilege of meeting with the leadership and health care professionals of the Ministry of Health and Social Services here in the Zambezi Region to encourage health care workers to submit their concerns and recommendations directly to my office so that I can continue advocating for practical solutions through parliament and the relevant authority.”

He also said that he has advocated for the extensions of the railway line from Grootfontein through the two Kavango Regions to the Zambezi Region.

“Such a railway connection would stimulate economic growth, facilitate trade, reduce transport costs, improve the movement of goods and passengers, and open new opportunities for business and investment in the Zambezi Region and Namibia at all.”
