A group of final-year law students donated sanitary products to female inmates at the Windhoek Correctional Facility. The donation was facilitated through the LLB Aid Handover Programme.
The donation was comprised of bathing soaps, sanitary pads, nappies, lotion, toothpaste, and other personal items.
The LLB Aid Handover programme aims to be of service to and uplift communities.
Speaking for the group, Doreen Lyomba says their gesture is meant to remind inmates that society still cares.
Commending the law students for their act of kindness was Assistant Commissioner at the Windhoek Female Correctional Facility, Julia Nauvinga, who highlighted the fact that the facility holds 101 people, including four infants.
The eldest inmate is 66, and the youngest is 19.
