The Namibia School Sport Union's Committee suspended its National Coordinator Solly Duiker with immediate effect on Wednesday.

The long serving NSSU National Coordinator Solly Duiker has been suspended. This development comes after the union travelled to South Africa on the 5th of October with six sport teams to take part in the COSSASA ball games.

Upon their arrival, it was discovered that there was no competition.

As no programme was provided, the teams became suspicious and eventually decided to withdraw from the 2022 COSASSA games altogether.

COSSASA president Solly Duiker has since claimed that all the allegations involving him are false and that he would only pronounce himself after the investigation is completed.

NSSU Chairperson Theophilus Nuugulu said that after doing a review on the COSSASA game saga, they decided to suspend Solly Duiker today.

"After doing a review, the National Council of the Namibian School Sports Union resolved to suspend Solomon Duiker, our National Coordinator with effect from today and investigations will be launched against him and in that process will determine what the way forward is so from today all queries related to school sports and administration of the office will resolve under the National Chairperson and the Council will pronounce himself while investigations are underway" Nuugulu said.

NSSU Commissioner Patrick Xoagub also weighed in on the matter.

"We want to clearly state that under no circumstances is the house of the NSSU dis-organised . We went to South Africa on the invitation of COSASSA and COSASSA leadership must be accountable" He said.

It was then revealed that the Confederation of Schools Sport Associations of Southern Africa also suspended Solly Duiker yesterday as its president with immediate effect, after an online executive meeting..

A one page letter signed by Secretary General Arthur Maposa states that Duiker allegedly over-exercised his powers and contravened the constitution.
