The Founder and President of the African Diaspora Development Institute, Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao, says Africa must rise and reclaim its position in the world.
Dr Chihombori-Quao and her delegation are in Namibia to identify areas of investment as the African diaspora strives towards economic emancipation.
She said Namibia is on the right track with the 3rd revolution, which is economic emancipation.
However, she highlighted that multinationals that ran the economies during African countries' colonial eras continue to control the continent's economies.
Dr. Chihombori-Quao emphasised that it is past time for Namibia and the African diaspora to reclaim what is rightfully theirs and stop the exploitation of their resources.
"I'm talking about multinationals that are taking billions out of Africa. Those are our products, and we are fully aware that these crimes are being committed, but invisible hands make it difficult for us to stand up."
She encouraged Africans to be proud of their heritage, and she stated that the African Diaspora Development Institute, which was found to provide a home for all Africans and aid in the development of the continent, will continue to do so.
She says capacity building is what Africa needs, but this can be achieved through unity.
Former Cabinet Minister and Managing Director of the TransKunene Consulting Services and Associates, Helmut Angula, says the delegation will help Namibia revitalise its economy.
"Now that we are struggling with the economic emancipation of our people, we welcome you and we think a difference can be made because you have vast human resources and other resources available that we can tap into."
Dr Chihombori-Quao also revealed that there are plans to establish an African Diaspora Development Institute headquarters in Namibia to mobilise and come up with investment opportunities.
