The Namkid charity organisation held a fun day with the homeless people who are accommodated at the Khomasdal Stadium in Windhoek.
They were treated to and provided with a meal, hygiene hampers, and clothing.
The men were also given haircuts, while the women received different hairstyles.
The organisation, which was established in 2015, aims to reach out to vulnerable people by providing them with basic necessities.
In addition, Namkid volunteers cleaned up the place and encouraged the residents to keep it tidy.
The founder of Namkid, Jasmine |Goagoses, says her parents, who died last year due to COVID-19, started the initiative to assist communities.
"We are so lucky to have tourists to Namibia who sponsored some of these items. We have chefs here today that volunteered to cook for us, so it is actually a fun day, to show the people that we are one nation. So we should be there for each other."
|Goagoses says she assists vulnerable people across the country.
"I am very happy and surprised that the public still cares about homeless people; I am grateful that the public came together and contributed whatever they could to help the homeless people, and I believe that we are all very happy and grateful for society."
Trevor Pieterse spoke on behalf of the homeless, saying he is grateful that the public still cares about them.
In appreciation, the residents washed the visitors' cars.
