Three-times golden medallion winning vocalist, Rayne Sadler, says Namibian artists are often faced with financial challenges, including the support from their own families.
14-year-old Sadler has been selected to represent Namibia on a global stage in New York from 9–18 July next year.
Sadler, whose passion for music began at the age of nine, says that financial backing is necessary to establish a foundation in the sector.
The gold medallist is working hard to raise money so that she can arrive in New York on schedule next year.
She received two gold and one platinum medal while competing for Team Namibia in South Africa as one of the top 10 junior vocalists, qualifying for the country to compete in New York from July 9–18, 2023.
Sadler, who performs every month-end weekend to raise funds at an open market, is calling on the public and private sectors for financial assistance.
Annika Henkert, a 14-year-old Namibian Championships of Performing Arts gold and silver medalist, will also represent Team Namibia in Los Angeles in July 2023.
The two train twice a week with their vocal coach, Savannah Callines.
