Debmarine Namibia has set itself to be a global class leader in marine diamond recovery through innovation, technology, and skill development.

These were the remarks of the outgoing Chief Executive Officer of Debmarine Namibia, Otto Shikongo, at the handover of a new school bus to Emono Combined School in the Oshana Region.

The N$800,000, 14-seater Quantum bus is equipped with safety features.

The school's dream was fulfilled after it wrote to Debmarine, requesting the company meet it halfway on the money it solicited to purchase a second-hand school bus.

Debmarine did not only respond positively but opted for a brand new bus instead.

Shikongo says the company understands the importance of having a school bus, saying it opens doors of opportunity for the learners to undertake educational excursions and allow them to see the outside world and dream beyond their present.

Debmarine Namibia's social responsibility is based on broad-based community needs, and through this pillar, Debmarine seeks ways in which it can partner with communities to generate real and lasting benefits in the areas of health, education, and livelihoods.
