President Hage Geingob has returned home from the COP27 global climate summit in Egypt, where he joined other world leaders to discuss how countries around the world should accelerate their efforts in combating climate change and bring it under control.

He says he is happy with Namibia's participation, describing it as a success with a number of agreements signed.

Apart from talks that have yet to produce results, President Geingob stated that no financial commitments have been made to developing countries in their fight against climate change.

The Namibian delegation led by President Geingob, among others, promoted the Green Hydrogen Project, with various countries pledging their financial support in the implementation of the project, which would help Namibians shift into the new era of generating environmentally friendly power.

On the pledges made towards the Green Hydrogen Project, the Head of State said he will convene a press conference in the days to come, where he will unpack more details.
