Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa- Amadhila has laid a wreath at the graveside of late SWAPO Party stalwart and Deputy Prime Minister, Hendrik Witbooi.

Witbooi was also the leader of the |Khowese clan.  

Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila was accompanied by incumbent Witbooi clan Gaob Ismael Witbooi and Hardap Governor Salomon April.

"We know that he can see us and he can hear us, but he does not only sees us when we come here, he sees us every day, he sees what we are doing, he knows when we are not following in the footsteps, he knows when we are not walking the path that he was  walking on and diverting, we are, therefore, inspired and encouraged to continue from where he left off, so that he can rest peacefully seeing that, for which he laboured is being realised."

Governor April explained that the late Witbooi's grave is the only one outside the Heroes Acre with full recognition.
