The first rain of the season, which fell in the Kavango East Region over the past few weeks, has given some subsistence farmers hope to start preparing their crop fields.
Some of the farmers have already planted their crops, while others are busy preparing for plowing.
Our news team visited some villages in the Rundu Rural and Ndonga Linena constituencies, where farmers have already cleared their crop fields and are ready to plow, as the rain started as early as last month.
But for others, the clearing of the bushes from the land is in full swing.
Farmers are hoping to benefit from the government's seed subsidy, as many cannot afford to buy it because it is too expensive.
