A local political analyst says president Hage Geingob's opening speech was intentionally crafted to augment unity in the party.

Dr. Ndumba Kamwanyah was however quick to point out that it is however too early to conclude whether the message has achieved its objectives as the real consequence will only be seen after the congress.

The analyst also weighed in on the president's sentiments on how the party fared with corruption as well as the implementation of economic and social programs.

Dr. Kamwanyah says the president's speech came out strong in an effort to defragment the scars and wounds of disunity caused by consequences of previous congresses and events within the party.

On corruption and governance, Dr Kamwanyah is of the view that the way corruption was dealt with, should be viewed from two perspectives, that is from a party and political level.
