Two people were arrested at the Noordoewer extension 2 areas in the ||Karas Region, for possession of alleged illicit drugs and goods worth more than N$56 000.

The police in its weekend crime report said, the 23-year-old male and 31-year-old woman were arrested following a tip-off by members of the public, which led to a police search operation.

The drugs confiscated reportedly include 1 095 kilograms of cannabis, 14 grams of tik, and 20 illicit Cape Navy Blue cigarettes.

In another incident, a 35-year-old male and 32-year-old female were arrested at Block 5 in Aussenkehr in the ||Kharas Region.

According to the police crime report, the suspects were found with 125 grams of skunk cannabis, four boxes of bootleg 'Yes', 'Sahavi', and 'Navy cut' cigarettes, valued at more than N$6 000.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old male was arrested for planting cannabis at farm Okatare in the Outjo district of Otjozondjupa Region. He was allegedly found with two cannabis plants in his garden.

The value of the two cannabis plants is yet to be determined.

Police investigations in all matters continue.
