In an effort to amplify the message of road safety, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology joined the campaign to help spread the message, especially during the festive season.

In an interview with nbc News, Deputy Minister Emma Theofelus invited everyone to participate in road safety interventions.

In the midst of the rainy season and the Christmas season, Theofelus reaffirmed the government's commitment to the national road safety campaign and urged drivers to conduct checks and balances at home before hitting the national roads.

"Many of us got our licenses when we were young, and the information may not be as clear and out there, but we, the Ministry of ICT, in collaboration with law enforcement and the Roads Authority, are going to embark on a serious campaign, and I hope you will join us in actually disseminating the information, digesting it, and putting it into words, so that you save your lives and the lives of other road users on our Namibian roads, because truly our economy, our lives depend on it."

Agatha Mweti, Chief Regional Officer of Otjozondjupa, stated that as the number of vehicles on the road increases, the region has revived the road safety forum to help ensure traffic regulations are enforced.

"Otjozondjupa Road Safety Forum was established many years ago but became dormant over a period of time, and it became our goal last year to revitalize this forum, and this was none other than due to the fact that the Otjozondjupa Region is vast and prone to accidents, as I think statistics have shown that. Most of the accidents in Namibia take place along the B1 road, specifically between Otjozondjupa and Otavi specifically. As a result, there was a genuine need for us to revitalize this forum."

Mweti added that motorists should exercise vigilance at all times and avoid drinking and driving.
