The Rotax Max National Go Kart Championships resume this year with the first leg at Swakopmund on Saturday. About forty three drivers in various classes took part in the season opener.

The first leg of the Go Karting Championships started off well with racers eager to impress and start the season on a high note.

Koos Reyneke in junior Max class put on a good show, while the Kaiymo twins Mandume and Nande who

moved from the Bambino class to Micro Max class dominated the races with their brand new karts.

Meanwhile, "Kid Rok and Mini Rok" are the lowest classes that were added this year to allow juniors drivers to start their Go-kart careers.

Goldbeck added that despite small mechanical issues experienced here and there, the unity and sportsmanship among the drivers and the handwork of the officials was really outstanding.

The second leg of the Rotax Max National Karting Championships will take place in Windhoek on the 11th of March.
