The interest and participation of Namibians in Karate has grown significantly over the years and new clubs are being introduced regularly.

As a result, a seizable number of participants also showed up for the Karate Federation's most recent trials.

The Head of the Namibian Karate Federation, Leornard Martins, spoke to nbc sport about the trails and the purpose they served.

With the region five games around the corner, the tournament will be used as a door opener for other continental games.
