Telecom Namibia has warned that the escalating copper theft is threatening critical telecommunications infrastructure and putting lives at risk, calling for stronger law enforcement and government intervention.

The daughter of veteran South African freedom fighter Oliver Tambo, Nomathemba Tambo, said Africa should build stronger Pan-Africanism institutions that transcend borders to foster real development. 

The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development launched its strategic plan 2025/26 to 2029/30 in Windhoek today.

The plan will serve as its management and implementation tool towards its achievements for Vision 2030 and the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6).

The Khomasdal Constituency office had to stop the application and vetting process for potential beneficiaries of income-generating grants due to alleged discrepancies.

Urban and Rural Development Minister James Sankwasa has warned residents against selling plots allocated to them for free by the government. 

Sankwasa addressed the community of Orwetoveni's extensions 16 and 17 at Otjiwarongo.
