King Felipe VI of Spain announced Africa as a key focus of Spain’s new Spain-Africa Strategy 2025-2028 during a New Year’s reception for the Diplomatic Corps in Madrid.

The African World Heritage Fund (AWHF), a UNESCO organisation, held its 2024 board meeting in December to outline its plans for 2025. The AWHF supports African countries in implementing the World Heritage Convention.
